As imperceptibly as Grief
The Summer lapsed away--
Too imperceptible at last
To seem like Perfidy--
A Quietness distilled
As Twilight long begun,
Or Nature spending with herself
Sequestered Afternoon--
The Duskdrew earlier in--
The Morning foreign shone--
A courteous, yet harrowing Grace,
As Guest, that would be gone--
And thus, without a Wing
Or service of Keel
Our Summer make her light escape
Into the beautiful.

夏日遠逸
悄然如憂傷離去––
如此纖靜難覺
不像是背信––
午后已感薄暮微光靜透
一種濃厚的寂靜，
或是大自然消磨
隱居的下午––
黃昏早臨––
晨光陌生
像急欲離去的客人
那種多禮惱人的風度––
就這樣，無需翅膀
或小船勞送
我們的夏日飄然逃逸
進入了美之地。
